Patriot Brief

  • What Happened: Sean Hannity confronted Rep. Shri Thanedar in a live interview over illegal immigration, violent crime, and his voting record.

  • Why It Matters: Thanedar admitted he does not regret voting against deporting illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes and refused to address victims’ families.

  • Bottom Line: The exchange highlighted a sharp divide between law and order accountability and political excuses.

In one of the most brutal cable news exchanges in recent memory, Sean Hannity dismantled radical Democrat Shri Thanedar on live television, and there was nowhere for Thanedar to hide.

Hannity opened by confronting Thanedar over his refusal to stand during the President’s joint session speech honoring the families of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, two young victims murdered by illegal immigrants. Thanedar tried to shrug it off by saying he was “sick of the president.” Hannity cut through the noise and reminded him the moment was about human decency, not politics.

Then came the question every leader should be ready to answer. Had Thanedar ever called a single family whose loved one was raped or murdered by an illegal immigrant. Thanedar dodged, deflected, and rambled about constituents and ICE. He could not name one family.

Hannity pressed harder and put Thanedar’s record on the table. Thanedar voted against legislation requiring the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes. When asked if he regretted that vote, his answer was chilling.

“No, I don’t regret that vote.”

Hannity asked the question every American understands. If it were your wife, your daughter, your sister, would you want that criminal to stay in the country. Thanedar refused to answer and claimed he could not remember the bill.

The exchange grew even uglier when Thanedar attacked ICE agents and dismissed reports of an officer injured after a suspect accelerated a vehicle toward him. He accused DHS of lying and publicly labeled the agent a murderer.

Hannity was not having it. He pointed to the surge in threats against ICE and the daily arrests of murderers, rapists, cartel members, and traffickers.

“You never lifted a phone to call one victim’s family,” Hannity said. “You attack the brave men and women who put their lives on the line. You should be ashamed.”

Thanedar doubled down. Hannity closed with clarity.

“I saw a man defending his life.”

So did the American people.
