Patriot Brief

  • What Happened: The White House blasted Gov. Tim Walz after he claimed there is “no verifiable evidence” that President Trump’s immigration enforcement is making America safer.

  • Why It Matters: Federal data cited by the administration points to sharp declines in crime, fentanyl trafficking, and officer deaths tied to targeted enforcement.

  • Bottom Line: The administration says Trump’s immigration policies are saving lives while Democrats deny the results.

The White House did not mince words after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz took a swipe at President Donald Trump and America’s immigration laws.

In a fiery statement posted to the White House website, officials asked a simple question. What exactly does Walz find so objectionable about enforcing the law. Walz claimed there is “no verifiable evidence” that Trump’s immigration enforcement is making the country safer. The White House called that claim untethered from reality.

The facts tell a different story. The nation likely recorded the largest one year drop in homicides in 2025, with the steepest declines in cities where the Trump administration focused immigration enforcement and crime prevention. In Florida, one operation led to the arrest of 150 illegal alien sex offenders. In Chicago, similar efforts coincided with sharp reductions in violent crime.

The administration says more than 70 percent of the 650,000 illegal aliens deported since Trump took office were charged with or convicted of crimes. Deaths of on duty law enforcement officers dropped nearly 25 percent last year. Traffic fatalities fell as dangerous drivers were removed from the roads. Fentanyl trafficking across the southern border was cut in half, easing the overdose crisis devastating families nationwide.

Emergency rooms also reported fewer illegal immigrant visits, freeing resources for American citizens. Public concern about crime dropped nearly 15 percent, reflecting safer communities.

The White House put it plainly. Trump’s immigration policies are saving lives. If Walz and Democrats find that objectionable, the administration says it reveals their priorities. Americans first. Criminals last. And the truth does not change just because the left refuses to see it.
